Deputy Director, S|2 Gallery, Sotheby’s
From January 2017 until June 2020, Bianca was the deputy director of S|2 Gallery in London, the exhibition arm of Sotheby’s auction house. Alongside the team of Darren Leak (Gallery Director) and Liberty Paterson (Gallery Manager), she organised and co-curated twenty-eight exhibitions and produced nineteen publications focusing primarily on artists under-recognised and potentially under-rated by the market. Our aim was to operate within the edges of art history, highlighting artists, groups and narratives previously under researched in the context of the secondary market. In a bid to move away from the classic auction house “gallery” model, we initiated a new business model centred around the transparent and open collaboration with galleries, artists, artist’s estates, curators, institutional entities and numerous private collections and foundations.
